Storage Finsbury Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Finsbury in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the actions we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Finsbury recognises that modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights and is committed to playing its part in eliminating these abuses wherever they may occur.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Storage Finsbury operates storage and related services, working with a range of suppliers for goods, facilities management, maintenance, and professional services. Our supply chain includes both direct and indirect suppliers, from local service providers to larger national and international organisations. We understand that any part of this supply chain can carry a risk of modern slavery, particularly where there are complex layers of subcontracting or where labour practices are less regulated.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Storage Finsbury has a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. We do not and will not engage with any party that we know is involved in or condones forced labour, debt bondage, servitude, child labour, or any other form of exploitation. We expect everyone who works with us or on our behalf to share this commitment and to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and can demonstrate that they operate in a lawful, ethical, and socially responsible manner. As part of our onboarding and renewal processes, we seek assurances from suppliers regarding their compliance with modern slavery and human trafficking laws. Where appropriate, we request information on their own policies, risk assessments, and the steps they are taking to address potential risks in their operations and supply chains.
When engaging suppliers in sectors or regions that may pose a higher risk, we conduct enhanced due diligence. This may include additional questionnaires, requests for supporting documentation, and scrutiny of labour practices, employment terms, and use of subcontractors. Failure to meet our standards may result in the termination of the business relationship.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Storage Finsbury is progressively implementing a programme of supplier audits proportionate to the level of risk presented by the supplier and the nature of the goods or services provided. These audits are designed to assess compliance with our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and to verify that appropriate policies, controls, and training are in place.
Audits may be carried out directly by Storage Finsbury or by appropriately qualified third parties. Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we will work with the supplier to develop corrective action plans and monitor their implementation within agreed timeframes. If meaningful improvements are not achieved, we reserve the right to suspend or end the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns, suspicions, or actual instances of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chain. Reports can be made through internal reporting lines, including line managers and senior management, or via existing whistleblowing mechanisms available within the organisation.
All concerns raised will be taken seriously and handled sensitively. We are committed to ensuring that no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting a concern in good faith. Where appropriate, we will investigate allegations promptly and, if necessary, take action which may include notifying relevant authorities or regulators.
Training and Awareness
To support our zero-tolerance approach, we aim to provide relevant training and guidance to employees whose roles involve procurement, contract management, or supplier engagement. This helps our teams recognise the signs of modern slavery, understand the risks in our sector, and know how to escalate concerns effectively.
We also seek to raise awareness of modern slavery more broadly within Storage Finsbury, reinforcing our expectations through internal communications and policy updates.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Finsbury recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing obligation requiring continuous improvement. We regularly review our policies, procedures, and due diligence processes to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to our risks.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed and updated at least once every year. As part of the annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our actions, consider feedback from stakeholders, and identify opportunities to strengthen our approach. Any updates or enhancements will be approved at an appropriate senior level within Storage Finsbury.
By publishing this statement, Storage Finsbury reaffirms its commitment to acting ethically and responsibly in all aspects of its business and to working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to help eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking.
